Off the back of a successful 2023/24 Season, a large Celtic Challenge cohort has been named within the Wales, Scotland, and Ireland sides set to face off in Round 1 of the Guinness Women’s Six Nations.
Scotland Back-row Alex Stewart is poised to gain her first cap as she gets the nod at open-side, having been vice-captain for new side Edinburgh this season.
19-year-old Irish winger Katie Corrigan is selected on the wing for her first cap having impressed Bemand and the Ireland coaching team during the recent competition with the Wolfhounds.
While Wales Scrum Half Sian Jones also has the chance to debut as she’s named on the bench for the Cunningham’s side. The young Scrum-Half impressing selectors whilst appearing for Gwalia Lightning this season.
All three sides feature a greater presence of Celtic Challenge players than in previous years, highlighting its value and importance as the Celtic nations head into the International window.
