Brython Thunder suffered a heavy defeat to the Clovers, losing 94-7 in Round 8 of the Celtic Challenge at Parc y Scarlets. The experienced Irish side dominated the young Welsh team, who were missing their captain, Natalia John. Despite a try from debutant Catrin Jones, the Thunder struggled against the Clovers’ powerful lineup. The Clovers scored multiple tries, leading 51-0 at halftime and continuing their dominance in the second half. Brython Thunder managed a single try in the second half, converted by Hanna Marshall.

Glasgow Warriors fell against Gwalia Lightning at Scotstoun on Saturday, despite a spirited and fiercely contested match

Under clear skies, Gwalia Lightning started strong against Glasgow Warriors, scoring twice early on through Sian Jones and Gwennan Hopkins, leading 12-0. Glasgow fought back, with Mairi McDonald and Poppy Mellanby making significant plays, but Gwalia’s defence held firm.

In the second half, Gwalia extended their lead to 17-0 with a try from Molly Anderson-Thomas. Glasgow responded with tries from Kate Yeomans and Briar McNamara, narrowing the gap to 12-17. After Gwalia’s Alaw Pyrs was sin-binned, Glasgow took the lead 19-17 with a try from Aisha Zameer.
