Wolfhounds Secure Thunder Double with Doyle’s Four-Try Heroics

The Wolfhounds continued their stellar form, completing the double over Brython Thunder with a resounding 57-5 victory at the UCD Bowl. Anna Doyle starred with a sensational four-try performance, while Aoife Dalton added a hat-trick of her own.

With precision kicking from Dannah O’Brien and strong contributions from their forward pack, the reigning champions built a commanding 26-0 halftime lead before piling on the points in the second half. Although Brython Thunder battled valiantly, Gabby Healan’s late try was their only score in the face of relentless Wolfhounds pressure.

Weather wins in Glasgow, Game Postponed

POSTPONED: Date to be Confirmed.

A decision to postpone the fixture, originally due to take place on Saturday 25 January at Scotstoun, was taken by the League due to escalating weather warnings relating to storm Eowyn and the dangerous wind conditions expected to occur across Scotland and Glasgow restricting the travel of the visiting side and supporters.

Gwalia Lightning claimed a narrow 29-27 victory over Edinburgh Rugby in a pulsating match at the Hive Stadium. The back-and-forth affair saw Gwalia edge out their Scottish opponents thanks to a late try from Alaw Pyrs and Carys Hughes’ clutch conversion.

Shona Campbell’s brilliant solo effort opened the scoring for Edinburgh, but Gwalia responded with tries from Lily Terry and Molly Wakely to take a slim 14-12 halftime lead. Both sides continued to trade blows in the second half, with Edinburgh crossing twice to secure a bonus point, but it was Gwalia who had the final say.
